“There are no finer things than the blessings a warm oven brings.”

This Thanksgiving holiday gives us all the opportunity to count our blessings. Wherever we find ourselves this Thursday can be a place of gratitude and hope.

The traditional model for Thanksgiving is of course the full turkey dinner and all the trimmings. But one year my husband and I celebrated with homemade pizza eaten while watching a football game on tv. We had a great time doing something unexpected and the pizza straight out of the oven hit the spot. After Thanksgiving, those who heard what we had done were either horrified at the thought or impressed that we  were willing to enjoy such a simple day.

Whatever your plans for Thanksgiving, we hope you get a chance at some point to warm up your oven and eat something delicious. May your gratitude in that moment carry you joyfully through the coming holiday season.
