The Newberg Hills Remodel
The Newberg Hills Remodel brought the kitchen in this historic home back to its original charm with custom heated tile flooring, cabinetry, quartzite countertops, and brass finishes. The project scope included the kitchen, butler’s panty, and powder bath.
The flooring in the kitchen and powder bath is completely custom, with colors and pattern chosen collaboratively by the homeowner and Beth, the designer on this project. The border around the perimeter adds just the right amount of character. We opted to lay a heated floor mat in both the kitchen and powder bath, to keep these spaces toasty warm in the cooler Pacific Northwest months.
Custom inset cabinetry was installed in the kitchen and butler’s pantry. Crown molding elevates the finished look, while the “Not Quite White” cabinet color and brass hardware add warmth and charm. Leathered Taj Mahal quartzite countertops complete this space beautifully!
The layout in the butler’s pantry was kept the same, but the cabinetry, countertop, and backsplash were all updated. We carried over the materials used in the kitchen, making this space feel fresh and bright. All of the details in this home are curated just so, and the salvaged and refurbished wall sconce in the pantry is no exception. We love the homeowner’s eye for all things ornate, so displaying pieces from her antiques collection was important to the project. Glass paneled cabinets, just off the butler’s pantry, do that job beautifully.
As mentioned, custom heated tile flooring was a must in the powder bath, opposite the butler’s pantry. We removed the old vanity and cabinetry, and installed a new pedestal sink with a gorgeous brass faucet.
