A story of how thoughtful design turned a dated kitchen into the heart of the home

Every home has a space that serves as its heart, and for many families, that space is the kitchen. It’s where meals are shared, conversations happen, and memories are made. Over time, though, kitchens can start to feel outdated or no longer meet a household’s needs. That’s when thoughtful design and quality craftsmanship can make all the difference.

A Clean Slate

The project began with a full-scale demolition. All of the existing cabinetry, countertops, plumbing fixtures, appliances, and flooring were carefully removed, clearing the way for a fresh start. With the kitchen stripped back to its bones, the possibilities for a brighter and more functional layout came to life.

Although much of the original layout was kept intact, thoughtful changes made a big impact. The cooktop was relocated from the peninsula to a brand new island, giving the kitchen a more central and open flow. A sleek ceiling-mounted hood was added above, paired with an integrated remote control cleverly hidden in the cabinet face. By removing the upper cabinetry on the peninsula, the once closed off view opened up, creating a spacious and welcoming feel between the kitchen and dining area.

Details that Make the Difference

The finishes brought warmth, color, and function to the new design. Brand new plumbing fixtures, pendant lighting, and recessed ceiling lights brightened the space while adding modern convenience. Custom alder cabinetry, painted island cabinets in a soft contrasting shade, and sleek quartz countertops provided timeless beauty. A bold tile backsplash added personality, while Marmoleum flooring tied the entire look together. New trim throughout the kitchen and dining areas finished the remodel with polish and detail.
