TYPICAL BATHROOM, READY FOR REMODELING

This recent bathroom remodeling project is a great example of how we can accomplish that goal. The space was a typical 9’ x 5’ bathroom with a severely enclosed fiberglass shower. The wallpaper was beginning to show its age. However, the vanity cabinet and tile countertop were in good condition and could remain in place. C&R’s design team devised a plan to completely renew this bathroom while staying true to the homeowners’ prescribed budget.

HOW DID YOU DO THAT?

As you can see, the results are quite lovely. Here are the specifications for this project:

• Calcutta Vein 12×12 tile replaced the yellowed vinyl flooring.
• New, enlarged custom shower used coordinating wall tile and 2×2 Timeless Stone for the shower base.
• The new shower bench and niche provides useful convenience.
• Striking, decorative tile band rims the shower walls and relates to the existing countertop tile.
• The clear glass shower door adds visual space to the room and provides additional light in the shower.
• Glass coating on the shower door and fusion tile grout will make the shower easy to clean.
• Premium Hansgrohe showerhead, shower arm, and hand shower afford the ultimate in bathing luxury.

GRAB BAR SECURITY

As is our custom for every new tile shower, we frame in backing and blocking for grab bars. This provides complete security when using the bars—there is no risk that the bar will detach from the wall, no matter how much pressure is applied.

NEUTRAL BACKDROP FOR COLOR

After removing the wallpaper, we applied paint in an attractive, coordinating color. The neutral palette allows the homeowners to add and change accent colors whenever they like. New knobs and pulls updated the existing vanity cabinet.

DECEPTIVELY SIMPLE

Even simple strategies like these can provide impressive results—when the materials are chosen with purpose and care. This is the key, and our designers are masters at this.
